New Quiet Pods Now Available at the Macdonald Campus Library

The Macdonald Campus Library is pleased to offer two new quiet study pods, funded by the Post-Graduate Students’ Society of McGill University (PGSS).

The pods provide a quiet, enclosed space for individual study, online meetings, interviews, and video calls. One pod is located in the library’s 24/7 area near the main entrance, and the second is on the third floor.

Built by Framery, the pods are designed for one person and include soundproofing to reduce noise, adjustable ventilation, and lighting settings suited for both focused work and virtual meetings. The new pods expand the range of study and work spaces available in the library and provide an option for users who need privacy for academic, research, or professional activities.

“We are incredibly grateful to PGSS for their generous support in making these work pods possible,” said Emily MacKenzie, Head Librarian of the Macdonald Campus Library. “Our three group study meeting rooms are always in demand and there are few places in the library where students can attend virtual classes or online meetings. These pods help fill an important need for our community. These pods help fill an important need for our community.”

The Macdonald Campus Library thanks PGSS for helping enhance the student experience through this investment in campus study spaces.
