Spotlight on philanthropy

Harold_Heft

The McGill Library and Archives is a hub of knowledge, culture and communication. Philanthropy supports acquisitions, teaching and learning and library events throughout the year.

Donor support plays an important role in our success and our supporters are as diverse as our collections and services we offer. One such example is the many gifts that the Library received in memory of McGill graduate Harold Heft, BA’87. Heft, who passed away in August 2015, also completed an MA from Université de Montréal in 1989 and a PhD from University of Western Ontario in 1994.

The Heft family kindly chose to make the McGill Library the recipient of donations made in Harold’s memory. As a student, the Library was an important part of Harold’s life. The gifts will be used to support acquisitions in Canadian Literature and each acquired item will be acknowledged in the Library’s catalogue record.
