A recent addition to the Wendy Patrick Health Information Collection is “Welcome to your child’s brain” by neuroscientists Sandra Aamodt, Ph.D, and Sam Wang, Ph.D. The book explains the latest neuroscience research to help you understand what happens in your child’s brain, including “what best predicts academic success,” “how learning a second language increases empathy,” and “why playing outside—but not inside—improves a child’s vision.” The book is available in the Life Sciences Library, on the Wendy Patrick Collection shelf ( RJ131 A25 2011). Or, if cold and snow keep you from coming up the hill, you can use the request feature in the catalogue.
