
There aren’t enough emojis in the world to express our gratitude to student societies for their support of McGill Libraries. Students are at the heart of the Libraries and this Giving Tuesday (and always), we celebrate the many ways in which their support helps improve services, collections, and spaces at McGill.

Collaborating with groups like the Students’ Society of McGill University (SSMU) Library Improvement Fund, Arts Undergraduate Society, Post-Graduate Students’ Society (PGSS) Library Improvement Fund, McGill Music Undergraduate Student Association (MUSA), Law Students Association, and the Macdonald Campus Students’ Society ensures that McGill libraries match the ever-changing needs of the 21st-century student. Helping to:
- create and maintain spaces conducive to student success and learning
- provide student employment opportunities at the libraries
- offer technology options like charging stations, cords, happy lamps, and more
- improve services and the student experience as whole with initiatives like extended hours, and beyond
Recent projects supported by students have included student employment, extended hours, quiet pods, open education resources, reading nooks, a paper shredder, 3D printers, destress zones, laptop lending kiosks, and so much more. Here are just a some of the ways that students support the Libraries:
