Promoting wellness, space beautification and a greener McGill with The Green Wall.

Every year, a committee of McGill students works with the Development & Alumni Relations office (DAR) to plan and market a fundraising campaign. This campaign is called Class Action. It is geared towards the graduating class, so they can make a donation to McGill to celebrate their graduation and to leave a legacy behind at McGill for future students. Primary donors to this project are 2013 grads, but some support is also received from alumni, staff and parents. For the last few years, the project picked for Class Action has been a sustainable initiative. Depending on the project, this initiative has various university stakeholders. DAR polled the committee members and some students to see which project they wanted for Class Action 2013, and the Green Wall in McLennan was the clear winner.  The Office of Sustainability and the Library partnered with Class Action 2013 to install The Green Wall on the “bridge” between McLennan and Redpath. The structure is a smart wall cabinet by Gsky Plant Systems and contains an automatic irrigation system. Thanks Class Action 2013 – we now have more colour and life to the halls!
