The McGill Library is conducting a feasibility study to examine the research, teaching and learning needs of the community. We are currently at the tail end of the first phase of this 6-9 month study. The architectural firms of Shepley Bulfinch and EKM are in fact finding and feedback gathering mode and input is being sought in numerous ways including focus groups, town halls on libraries, on-site visits and online.

For a good overview of the project, check out the dedicated website, view our November 11 Town Hall on libraries, or read the articles below.

The conversation is ongoing and growing and we want to hear from the readers of Library Matters!

What does the Library of the 21st century look like to you? What kind of services, resources, and spaces do you want to see in 10, 20 or 50 years time?

What will be the most important opportunities for the Library to engage with McGill? With the city of  Montreal?

What academic and community partners might strengthen the library and shape its role? How might these collaborations affect physical space?

Send your ideas and feedback anonymously via this handy, online form.

Check the main page of our website in the new year for more news and events linked to the feasibility study. Until then, have a wonderful holiday season!
